MERCY HEALTH CENTER, a division of MERCY HEALTH SYSTEM OF KANSAS, INC, is recruiting an Emergency Medicine Physician for its Fort Scott and Independence locations.  Mercy Health System of Kansas has services which span a nine county region in Southeast Kansas and Southwest Missouri with physician offices in Fort Scott and Independence. 

MERCY HEALTH CENTER in Fort Scott, Kansas, is a new, $32 million facility opened in July of 2002.  It is a 175,000 square foot center with 40 medical and surgical beds, four labor-delivery-recovery postpartum beds, two stepdown rooms, 12 inpatient rehabilitation beds, and 10 ICU beds.  The 4,000 square foot Emergency Department contains two trauma rooms, a decontamination room and four exam rooms.

The physicians and nursing staff providing emergency services at Mercy Health Center are specially trained in emergency and trauma medical care and are available round the clock in the seven-suite hospital Emergency Room. The city of Fort Scott provides Emergency Medical Service paramedics who are ready to respond 24 hours a day and provide Type 1 ambulance service with advanced cardiac life support.
