A great opportunity exists to join a developing group of two-physicians in a General Neurosurgery practice in Fort Worth, Texas affiliated with Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital (HMFW), a 710-bed facility serving a population of 2.5 million. This facility is presently a Level II trauma center, but is working toward a Level 1 designation. We have a robust Emergency Department with over 90,000 visits and an active call schedule.
Located in the medical district of Fort Worth, Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital is a regional referral center for 26 counties in Texas with transfers/referrals from as far away as El Paso and Oklahoma. HMFW has a census of about 600 patients per day and 27 ORs. Quality and continuity of patient care is of the highest priority at HMFW, a magnet facility for nursing. The hospital is well-equipped with a CyberKnife, a neurointerventional suite, image guided equipment and three neuro-radiology interventionalists on staff. HMFW is also evaluating the addition of Inter-Operative MRI. Gamma knife technology is also available in the Fort Worth community. There are nine active neurosurgeons on staff representing two groups, as well as a developing third group. The neurosurgeons do about 1,600 neurosurgery cases at HMFW, excluding back and spine. There is a two-month wait for new patients to be seen. This, along with all the population growth in surrounding communities of Tarrant County, indicates a great need for additional neurosurgeons in this city. Fort Worth, Texas is a great place to live, work and raise a family.
Compensation and benefits are competitive and attractive.
