To the approximately 250,000 people who call it “home”; Lincoln is at heart a college town, the seat of state government and much more. Our quality educational environment is reflected in our excellent public and parochial school systems, along with a state university, two liberal arts colleges and a community college. Lincoln has been rated 20th out of 100 “Best Cities for Families.” With an average commute time of 16 minutes, Lincoln offers an attractive work/life balance in one of the fastest growing areas of the Midwest. Additionally, “Nebraska has become fifth in refugee resettlement per capita when compared with states of similar population” – this has added much cultural richness to a community already brimming with cultural and recreational possibilities.
