Ketchikan General Hospital is an accredited acute and long-term care facility providing a variety of services including comprehensive trauma, 46-beds inpatient, outpatient, and home health services and a long-term care facility.
Ketchikan General Hospital is located in the heart of the Tongass National Forest. The hospital provides health care services to Ketchikan as well as to the island communities located along Alaska’s Inside Passage.
Isolated on an island 680 air miles from Seattle, Washington, Ketchikan General Hospital is more self-reliant than most small rural hospitals found in the "lower 48." Among the services available at Ketchikan General are home health, physical and occupational therapy, an accredited cancer care program, up-to-date technology and medical equipment, an emergency physician and staff on site 24 hours a day, a phase II cardiac rehabilitation program, and diabetes education.
The medical community is complemented by several EMT services and medi-flight service from the outer islands to Ketchikan. Ketchikan contracts with medi-vac companies to provide emergency airlifts to Seattle area hospitals for major traumas including head and neck injuries.
At PeaceHealth, we carry on the healing mission of Jesus Christ by promoting personal and community health, relieving pain and suffering, and treating each person in a loving and caring way. The fulfillment of this Mission is our shared purpose. It drives all that we are and all that we do. To those who embrace the spirit of these words and our commitment to Exceptional Medicine and Compassionate Care, we offer the opportunity to learn and grow as a member of the PeaceHealth family.
Ketchikan is the fourth largest city in Alaska, located along the Inside Passage, and one of Alaska’s most unique! Ketchikan is on an island, one of hundreds dotting Alaska’s Inland Passage Here you will find the rugged beauty of the Alaskan wilderness mixing comfortably with an ambitious and thriving business community located in the Tongass National Forest and close to Misty Fjords National Monument.
