Search for one board certified neurologist for Johnson Neurology Clinic (JNC). The optimal candidate would be a university trained general neurologist.
JNC is a regional neurology practice serving multiple locations in the NC Piedmont Triad area. This opportunity is to join Dr. Applegate in JNC’s Asheboro location. Dr. Applegate is a B/C neurologist. A summary of his training is below.
The practice hours are M-F 8a-5p. JNC also provides IP consults. Their admissions are handled by the hospital’s B/C Hospitalist service. ED/practice call, with the new recruit will be 1:3.
Health and disability insurance are part of the package as is a retirement plan. Partnership is available. There is a two year partnership track.
RH pays interview expenses plus relocation. The relocation package includes a house-hunting trip paid for up to 5 nights here, plus rental car and meals. Relocation of belongings up to $6000 (require two estimates). Relocation includes some travel expenses including hotel accommodations if needed.
Randolph Hospital is a private, not-for-profit, 145-bed community hospital and is the only hospital in the county serving a population of over 130,000. Our ED is staffed with residency-trained EM physicians who work exclusively at RH. The emergency department sees over 40k visits/year, however it is not a trauma center. Our medical staff has most surgical specialists with the exceptions of CVT, Neuro and Plastics. The hospital has a successful Hospitalist program, available for medical consults on surgical patients. RH has 5 OR’s in which 4867 surgeries were performed last year.
$42 million in renovations have been completed since the 1990’s. We recently completed a new MRI facility, and will now begin the construction of a new out-patient facility and cancer center. Plans call for the cancer center to include a Linear Accelerator, enabling us to provide Radiation Oncology services. Other additions include the recent addition of a 64 slice CT scanner, which is now in operation.
Asheboro is located in the center of North Carolina in the rolling hills of the NC Piedmont, and near the Uwharrie National Forrest. The Blue Ridge Mountains are two hours west, and Beaches are each just three hours to the east. Our area offers excellent opportunities for running, hiking, fishing, golf, local gyms, children’s activities, theatre, shopping and many other family and social activities. Greensboro, North Carolina’s third largest city is just 25 minutes away. Charlotte, the largest City is only 1.25 hours south. Managed care is minimal. Piedmont International Airport in Greensboro offers service on most carriers to most destinations.
Public Schools are good at all levels, and there are three major medical schools, Duke, UNC, and Wake Forrest, all within 1 hours drive. Asheboro is the home of the North Carolina State Zoo, noted as one of the top zoos in the United States.
