Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) began construction of its new 210,000-square-foot-facility in October 2007. The Arizona hospital will include approximately 24 in-patient rooms including ICU rooms and surgical suites, state-of-the-art radiation therapy and infusion departments, an on-site out-patient clinic, rehabilitation therapy, and on-site residential accommodations for out-patients and their families.
The decision to build a new facility in Arizona originated from our patients’ request to build hospitals closer to their homes. We care about what functional design elements will be most conducive to our patients' treatment and healing. Just as we did with our other hospitals, we invite our cancer patients and their families to be actively involved in every step of the hospital design process.
Entrepreneur Richard Stephenson, who vowed to create a patient-centered cancer program after his mother lost her battle with cancer, founded Cancer Treatment Centers of America in 1988. There are currently three comprehensive cancer hospitals in our system located near Chicago, Illinois, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and our newest hospital in the Phoenix area will open in early 2009.
The integration of conventional medicine with scientifically based alternative and complementary medicine, offered in a patient-centered environment has made CTCA one of the fastest growing cancer centers in America.
CTCA at Western Regional Medical Center will be located in Goodyear, only 20 minutes from downtown Phoenix. The hospital will offer surgery, radition, including TomoTherapy, and chemotherapy. We offer advanced techniques to treat most all types of cancer. With a team of specialists to provide nutritional guidance, mind-body medicine, and spiritual support, our oncologists can give their patients the integrative care that they want and deserve.
