DCH Health System is looking for a Medical Director specialized in Medical Oncology. This opportunity would allow you to join a team of 3 medical Oncologist, 2 radiation Oncologist and many health professionals in providing clinical services and administrative services as the program expands into a new 49,000 sq ft state of the art cancer treatment facility. The Current program, established in 1986, will expand into the new facilities in Feb of 2009 and enjoy the benefit of 2 new Varian linear accelerators, 24 treatment stations and numerous ancillary services under one roof.
Candidates for this position will demonstrate some history of Administrative accomplishments in addition to significant clinical experiences is delivering cancer treatment services.

Tuscaloosa, located in west central Alabama, serves as a large medical referral center with over 250 active practicing physicians and two area hospitals. DCH Health System serves all of the inpatient care needs for the community, with two local hospitals and established relationships with surrounding area hospitals and physicians, to serve a referral population of 300,000. DCH is a recent recipient of the Alabama Quality Award and Employer of Choice Award.
DCH Regional Medical Center is a 583-bed facility supporting a full range of services serving all specialities. The facility provides state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical capabilities as well as 32 ICU beds and a 16-bed cardiac care unit.
Tuscaloosa and West Alabama are part of the global business environment. Mercedes-Benz has recently doubled the size of its manufacturing plant in Tuscaloosa. The M-Class and R-Class vehicles built here are sold around the world. It is the hub of the expanding automobile industry for the state.
The University of Alabama, Stillman College and other institutions of higher education attract students from across the nation and around the world. The University of Alabama Family Practice Residency program operates out of University Medical Center directly across from the DCH Regional Medical Center Campus and is supported by DCH Health System with faculty relationships throughout the Medical Community.
As the home of The University of Alabama Crimson Tide, winner of 12 national football championships, thousands of fans come to town on autumn weekends, turning parking lots into small festive villages decked out in crimson and white.
